Jones was praised by viewers and critics alike for portraying Hawking's former wife, in The Theory of Everything, a Stephen Hawking biopic. Inferno with Tom Hanks was next on her list of credits. In the year 2016 the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Los Angeles named Jones to be the British Artist of The Year for her talent and contributions to cinema.
