Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress and singer. The first Broadway roles are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. Her first Tony Award was given to her for the role of Essie Carmichael from You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has been collaborating on projects with award-winning directors, actors, and producers throughout her career. Ashford is scheduled to be as a co-star with Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently engaged in the production of Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream through Disney's DTC platforms and will be available as a Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023. He will play opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will form the team of creators for the production. Ashford played Paula Jones, the main character in Ryan Murphy's new FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters in the first impeachment proceedings in America for more than a century. Ashford was the main character in two seasons on CBS comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role as Essie. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are amongst her additional Broadway performances. Ashford was raised and born in Denver and now divides the time in Los Angeles, and New York.
